Reverend Jack Russell developed the JR Terrier in the south of England in the 1800’s.   The  JR Terrier was used to hunt fox.   The JR Terrier would ride along on the fox hunts, when the quarry entered their den, the JR Terrier would bolt them and the hunt would ride on.
